Desert Stories was born from a meeting of worlds. On one side, Morocco — where the Sahara stretches endlessly and nomadic traditions still shape daily life. On the other, Europe — where new ideas, creativity, and global connections continue to grow. Together, we built a bridge between the two.
What unites us is a simple vision: to share the desert in a way that feels authentic, respectful, and personal.
Our roots in M'hamid
Desert Stories grew out of the desert itself. Some of us are nomads born here, others came from far away and stayed — captured by the silence, the vast skies, and the meaning this place holds. What brings us together is a love for the Sahara and the wish to share it with others.
Our roots lie in M’hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the dunes of Erg Chigaga. For over 20 years, our Moroccan family has been guiding camel caravans, leading 4×4 expeditions, and welcoming guests into the heart of the desert.
From this foundation, Desert Camp Chraika was created — an eco-friendly base powered by solar energy, built with traditional clay and wood, and shaped by the warmth of local nomads.

After over two decades of welcoming guests from around the world to the desert, Desert Stories has entered a new chapter. Today, we combine the raw beauty and depth of experience we’ve cultivated in Morocco with the structure, safety, and transparency that European travellers value.
We are fully licensed, insured, and operating under EU travel laws — yet at our core we remain a locally rooted team who knows every path across the dunes.
